🌿 About the Street-to-Garden Project
The Street-to-Garden Project is a community-based initiative of the Great Achievers Social Development Initiative (GASDI) , proudly funded and approved by The Pollination Project (TPP), USA.
This project was awarded to GASDI as part of TPP’s global micro-grant support for changemakers creating social impact in their communities. Through this funding, GASDI has commenced the Street-to-Garden Urban Gardening Skills Project , aimed at empowering fifteen (15) selected youths from the Jikwoyi community in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The project officially began on Monday, 6th October 2025 , with its first classroom session held at the GASDI Capacity Building Office, Four-Line Plaza, Jikwoyi, FCT, Abuja, Nigeria . The training focuses on equipping participants with both theoretical and practical knowledge in urban gardening , emphasizing the cultivation of okra, tomato, and spinach (green leaves).
Over the next three months, participants will be trained on:

- Land preparation and soil management
- Seed selection, planting, and composting
- Watering, weeding, and crop maintenance
- Harvesting, record-keeping, and environmental sustainability
The Street-to-Garden Project represents a major step toward youth empowerment, food security, and environmental sustainability in Nigeria.
🌱 This project is currently ongoing and actively transforming lives from the streets to the garden — and from the garden to a better future.
