As part of the Street-to-Garden Urban Gardening Initiative , funded by The Pollination Project (TPP) and implemented by the Great Achievers Social Development Initiative (GASDI), our team has successfully commenced the classroom training phase of the program.
This phase marks the beginning of the 3-month empowerment journey for 15 selected youths from the Jikwoyi community, Abuja — transforming their passion for a greener environment into practical agricultural skills.
🎥 About the Videos
The two classroom lecture videos titled:
1️⃣ Street-to-Garden Classroom Lecture 1
2️⃣ Street-to-Garden Classroom Lecture 2
capture the first official training sessions held at the GASDI Capacity Building Office.
In these sessions, participants were introduced to key topics including:
Understanding the Street-to-Garden Project Vision
Basic Concepts of Urban Gardening and Sustainable Agriculture
Crop Selection and Planning (Okra, Tomato, and Spinach)

Team Structure and Leadership Roles within the Project
These sessions were led by Dr. Emmanuel Dekolo (Facilitator) and Mr. Agbo Chukwuemeka Michael (Field Instructor & Project Lead) , who provided practical insights to prepare participants for the hands-on training phase at the community farmland.
🌱 Next Phase
Following the classroom lectures, the project now moves into the farm practical sessions , where each group will apply what they’ve learned by cultivating assigned crops under close supervision.
